Older Women, We Need You
When I first had children, I surrounded myself with other moms in the same season of life. We were all in the trenches of motherhood together, encouraging, helping, and supporting each other. Those early years were hard and all I could see was the battle immediately before me. Life was lived in the minute and I spent my days putting out fires and ducking from the rapid fire challenges of daily motherhood.
Now that the early years of motherhood are behind me, I have come up for air and can see the terrain around me. I can see that while one season has ended, there are more to come. And what I seek now is not the help and support of other women in the same season as me, but that of women who have gone before me….to read the rest of this post, visit the CBMW, my writing home today.

May 6, 2015 at 10:40 am (5 months ago)I agree 100% with this post today. Luckily, I reached out to an older woman in my church about 4 years ago and I have a godly Titus 2 mentor. However, the place where I struggle is I don’t feel “qualified” to be a Titus 2 woman to someone else. I am 48 years old and have successfully raised 2 beautiful daughters, but while I was saved as a teenager, I haven’t really had a relationship with God until the last 4 years (since working with my mentor). I don’t know that I really have any godly advice for younger women on how to submit to their husbands or raise their children in a godly way. I’m afraid I’d steer them the wrong way. I wasn’t “plugged into” God while raising my girls or in the early parts of my marriage. In my heart, I would LOVE to someday be an older mentor to someone younger, but I don’t know that I have much to offer.
