I said I didn’t want to wear it! Posted by Picasa

Aunt Keri sent Ethan a crab hat from Baltimore to remind him of his heritage and he would not wear it so I could take a picture of him. Posted by Picasa

We went for his one year pics today and because he is not napping in the mornings I don’t know what time to schedule anything. So he was tired and would not smile for the poor lady. She worked so hard, singing, dancing, acting like she was sneezing and he acted like he was going to cry, tried to crawl off the box he was sitting on, etc. Nothing seemed to work. I guess I have a lot to look forward to tomorrow when he has his one year appointment at the doctors.

We are still stuck in between the stage of two naps and one nap. He’s not tired enough for a nap at 9am yet he is so tired by lunch time that he can hardly stand it. If he takes a nap midmorning, say 10:30, he won’t take an afternoon nap. On Monday he had no nap all day. Boy was he fun to be around. Today he woke up early so he was tired enough for a morning nap but cried for an hour when I put him down for his afternoon nap. Needless to say he did not have an afternoon nap and whined for the whole rest of the day. I suppose this will continue until he is ready to have just one nap but it is difficult for me to know whether I should leave the house and do anything and if I do, I may have to suffer the consequences for it.

The yummy cakes made by Kristine Posted by Picasa

Ethan had his first birthday party yesterday. What an event for the little guy! He was quite over stimulated by all the attention and happenings and didn’t quite know what to do. He loved having his friends over to play. He of course didn’t know how to unwrap presents but loves all his new stuff. He was up early this morning playing with his new toys-maybe he’ll stay out of the trash can and the toilet paper roll now. He ate his cake like he was eating his normal food-I thought he would get it all over him and that he would pick it up and put it in his mouth but he didn’t. All in all an eventful day and one we enjoyed celebrating with close friends and family. I can’t believe it’s been a year. I am so blessed to have Ethan and so thankful for the joy I’ve had in being his mom. I am so happy that Ethan has so many great little pals to play with and grow up with. A big thanks to everyone who came! Thanks for the awesome cake Kristine!
