I went for my monthly visit to the chiropractor on Monday and woke up Tuesday with my neck hurting. It worsened as the day went on until I couldn’t move it for the horrible pain. The only way it didn’t hurt was to lay on my side. George was at the fire department and I had to ask him to come home. A friend came over the watch Ethan until George came home. My chirpractor has the best job-he’s closed on Tues. and Thurs. I took a muscle relaxer last night and woke up feeling better.

We had a nice Thanksgiving with George’s family and mine in town. Ethan calls my parents by their last name “Apperson.” It’s cute. His Aunt Shanna followed him around the house videotaping everything he did. There was something wrong with the turkey fryer and we almost didn’t have any turkey but the men figured it out and saved the day. On Saturday while my parents were here we took Ethan to the zoo. He had a great time chasing birds around and rode his first carousel ride.

I’ve not communicated with another person other than Ethan or George for the past week (unless you count the people at Walgreens whom I’ve seen daily). George took Ethan to a county vehicle show today while I got my hair cut. Ethan got to try out the county vehicles (firetrucks, etc.) and I got to catch up on Vogue while getting my hair cut. Then I got to go to the grocery store without Ethan and accomplish something without chaos (usually he pushes all the buttons on the payment machine so that my payment by credit card gets cancelled when we ring up the groceries:)

Well after five days with a fever and the breathing treatments having no effect, we went to the doctor and found out he had an ear infection. Believe it or not this is his first one. It’s also his first round of antibiotics. The doctor called him an antibiotic virgin. Hopefully he’ll be better in time for Thanksgiving when we have both of our families in town.

Well we got tired of him climbing out of his bed and sleeping on the floor so we overcame our denial about him being ready to get rid of the crib and put him in a big boy bed. It’s actually one of those plastic race car beds. At the same time, he became sick with a very bad cold which of course means asthma meds and all the issues that go along with that. Suprisingly he adjusted very well to the new bed. I’m still weary, now because I wake up every time he coughs.

I may not be posting much for a while. I have been quite weary as of late. George has been working like crazy and at the same time, Ethan decided to give up his nap completely. I lock him in his room for an hour each day for “rest time” but he just cries the whole time so it’s not very restfull for either of us. I think with the two of us spending so much more time together it is wearing on the both of us. He climbs out of his crib whenever he is put in it. A couple of nights he has fallen asleep in other parts of his room rather than in his bed-like under his crib, behind the chair, on the floor in front of his crib. I guess he is saying that while we may make him stay in his room, we can’t make him sleep in his bed.
