I had been getting grumpy that our pool wasn’t yet done and it’s getting warm enough to swim. I hadn’t prayed about it (why not?) but I started to and the next day the guys came and did the decking. The following week the landscapers and the screen company was here. Yesterday the kiddie fence was put in. Now I’m just praying that the pool company has time to come soon to do all the finishing touches (salt system, diamond brite, electrical work, etc). Even if we can’t swim, at least Ethan can play on the porch again. Lesson learned about prayer.
One of my great pleasures in life is reading. (My grandfather would say that I always had my nose in a book as a child). I just finished “Stepping Heavenward” by Elizabeth Prentiss. It was written in the 1800′s and is a fiction book written in the form of a diary. It starts out with the girl turing 16 yrs. old and it follows her Christian walk and her process of sanctification. Wow, what a great book.
I shared the gospel with Ethan today. We were listening to one of his cd’s with kids singing about Jesus dying on the cross for our sins and Ethan kept talking about it. So we talked about what it meant. I’m not sure that he understood. He just said, “Okay.” It’s a start. It’s very cute though when he says, “Jesus died on the cross for my sins.”
We’ve been working on round two of house renovations. Basically whatever we couldn’t afford to do the first time. At first Ethan was fascinated by the workman and would watch out the window everytime they were here but now he pays no attention. One day we had the screen people taking downt the screen on our porch, a guy cutting down trees, and a ton of guys working on our sprinkler system. We just got new garage doors and we have four huge piles of fill waiting to be spread for the playground and other landscaping projects. They just started working on the decking around the pool. If it doesn’t rain this week they should hopefully finish it this week. Then comes the screen and then we still need the coating on the bottom of the pool, the heater, the salt system, the kiddie fence and then the water. In October it will be a year so hopefully before then… We’ve also been making our choices in new windows and a new front door because we are doing new siding once the pool is done. I’ve gotten a bunch of catalogs for Ethan’s playground and there are some very cool playgrounds out there. Too bad we don’t have $10K!!!
