Our anniversary was last night so we went out on a date. Whoohoo! One of our favorite babysitters is home from college for the holiday so she came over to watch both the boys. When George arrived home from work to get ready to go out, Ethan told him he didn’t want him there, he only wanted Allie the babysitter. When she arrived he ran to show her all his new toys. We went to one of George’s favorite Italian places, Ianelli’s for dinner. I had requested Bonefish but lost. We then went to see National Treasure which was a great movie. I went to Starbucks before hand and bought brownies to sneak in to the theater. We had a nice time and apparently the boys did too.

I took Ian to his 2 month appt. I had Ethan with me as well. We were there for an hour and 45 minutes. Ethan was quite agitated by the end. We really hate the doctor’s office. We like the doctor’s but however the office is managed is deficient. There is always a long wait and I don’t think they have enough nursing staff. Anyway, Ian is now 25 inches and 13 lbs 13 oz. Ethan was 24 inches and 13.1 at the same age. He has a flat head. I had asked the doctor about it in the hospital because I had noticed right away that he tended to lay on one side of his head. I asked the doctor then if there was concern about him getting a flat head and she said that all babies have flat heads. The next two appointments he had I asked about it and they told me to just watch it and encourage him to look at me by turning to the other side of his head. Well now they want him to get a physical therapy eval. because they think he may have Torticollis Plagiocephales (sp?) which would require physical therapy to prevent him from requiring a helmet. Great. (Too bad my sarcasm can’t be heard via the typed word). Other than that issue he is very healthy, just huge.

George had to work on Sunday so I drove the boys over the Sebring after church. I had volunteered to do nursery that morning before I knew George was working for someone so he could have Christmas day off. Anyway it was silly for me to do nursery by myself since I always have to feed Ian during that time. The drive went really well, Ian slept the whole way and Ethan watched Cars. That night, I went to bed at 11pm after feeding Ian. Ian stirred and made his noises from 2:30-3:30 and I tried to keep him quiet so as to not waken Ethan. Ethan woke up at 4am and said he wasn’t tired anymore. I told him he had to lay quietly until the rest of the house woke up. That didn’t happen. Every time Ethan made noise, Ian woke up and I had to get him back to sleep. I was tired by the time 7am rolled around. The neighbors across the street always offer their house to us because they spend Christmas in Miami so the next two nights I left George with the boys and I went across the street to sleep. Because Ethan had gotten up at 4am we knew he wouldn’t make it to the Christmas Eve service at church so we missed it:( Highlights of our holiday included Ethan baking cookies with Aunt Shanna and decorating a gingerbread house. Shanna and I enjoyed our Christmas tradition of new pj’s. Gift highlights for the adults included the pink flamingo PopPop got as well as the accordion we gave him (he said he used to play as a kid and we thought it would be fun to watch him play:) Grandma and Shanna enjoyed their new IPod’s, Shanna and PopPop played with their Magellen’s and George checked out his multifunctioning printer, fax, copier, scanner, etc. combo. Aunt Peg liked the “Crazy Bird Lady” shirt we got her. Ethan’s highlight was his firetruck that opened up to a city with cars and ramps inside. Ian received tons of toys but wasn’t paying attention because he was either eating or sleeping most of the time. George made us a firehouse breakfast, sans most of the bacon grease and we spent most of the day with everyone playing with their new toys until Christmas dinner. Ethan didn’t want to leave but we headed home Wednesday morning to the joy of laundrey and unpacking.
